ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Amber Goodvin was once described to us by a mutual Wonder friend as "the hand of Hallmark"; the artist whose whimsical whirls and dynamic, folksy fonts you'd recognize in all manner of Hallmark's best and brightest work. We're honored and lucky to count Amber a member of the Lawrence art community and a friend to Wonder Fair, and we're so excited to offer you all this chance to learn from (and be inspired by!) her skill and creative spirit.

Visit Amber's Website (http://www.ambergoodvin.com/) to learn more about her work, or get to know her a bit in our meet-the-artist section below!

MEET AMBER!

"I work at Hallmark in the lettering + illustration studio, where I have been lucky enough to learn from a team of uniquely talented people for the last nine years. Many call Hallmark the "corporate grad school" for artists and that has been true to my experience. I love what Hallmark is all about and I love my job. My family and I recently moved to Lawrence, KS so my husband could pursue his MFA in creative writing. We both did our undergrad at KU, and returning to Lawrence has made us feel young again (school spirit, drinking acceptable at any time of day, mass st.) - and simultaneously really really old. (sir, it's 10pm- kindly put a shirt on, get off your roof and turn that music down!)  Beyond Hallmark, I teach handlettering to design students at KU, do a little freelance, and love cooking and being a mom to my two children and two pugs."
